BUFFALO, N.Y. — The remains of a WNY soldier who died in the Korean War has returned home.
Army Sergeant Gerald B. Raeymacker of Dunkirk returned home Thursday morning.
Raeymacker was killed during the Korean War.
He was reported missing December 6, 1950 and was finally accounted for on August 9, 2019.
Following the summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un, North Korea turned over 55 boxes with the remains of American service members.
Family members of Raeymacker were present at the airport when his remains arrived.
