BATAVIA, N.Y. - New York's senior U.S. senator does not need the latest technology to do his job.
Democrat Sen. Charles Schumer told reporters on Friday that he still has an old school flip phone.
Schumer talked about the dated device after Two On Your Side's Dave McKinley asked him about the security on his iPad.
"I do have this iPad," Schumer said. "But.. I still have a nice old fashioned flip phone."
Schumer's remark was met by laughter from reporters and those at the news conference concerning a trade plan that Schumer believes will hurt dairy farmers in Western New York.

The democrat said he does not use a smart phone because responding to e-mail could get him in trouble.
"When e-mail started [Schumer's chief of staff] said you know, 'you are a public official, sooner or later what's in your e-mail will be made public... I know you Chuck you are going to write Senator so and so, what a jerk,'" Schumer told reporters. "I don't do e-mails. I get them but I don't do them."
Schumer also told reporters that his flip phone started ringing during a meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook. Schumer said Cook and others in the room were surprised when the senator pulled out the old phone in front of them.
So, now that it is out in the open, how long until a twitter account called @SchumerFlipPhone is created?
