BUFFALO, N.Y. — Hollywood, the White House, startups, and unions. Those are some of the guests in the suite controlled by New York State at Highmark Stadium.
According to a report issued by Empire State Development, the I Love New York Hospitality Suite was used by Governor Hochul, and her guests, four times — including the wild card game between the Bills and Steelers.
Hollywood actor, and WNY native William Fitchner, along with staff members of director Guillermo del Toro, used the suite for the Bills/Dolphins game on Oct. 1.
The purpose for the suite is to "further economic development in the region," according to the report.
The start-up competition and incubator 43North used the suite twice last season, including the Bills/Chiefs divisional playoff game on Jan. 21.
At that game, White House director of intergovernmental affairs and Western New York Native Thomas Perez was a guest in the suite.
The report does indicate that several guests, including the governor and other lawmakers, staff from the University at Buffalo, and other guests made a charitable donation for the value of their suite ticket.
According to the report, the Aug. 12 preseason game between the Bills and Colts was made available for charitable purposes and reserved for the Cradle Beach Camp.
