BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Girl Scouts of Western New York are searching for new members.
The group will be hosting a 12-hour Join-a-thon starting Wednesday, October 16 at 8a.m.
Young women who sign up will be eligible for gift cards ranging from $25 to $100 and a Build-A-Bear Workshop experience.
2 On Your Side spoke with the CEO of the local girl scouts to see what the group provides for young girls.
"STEM, outdoor skills, life skills and entrepreneurship across the Western New York region," said Cara Biddlecom, CEO of Girl Scouts of Western New York. "Troops will also come together to do field trips and other fun things that could be hiking, going to the science museum, those types of things. It depends on what badges they want to focus on, and what they want to learn."
Financial aid is also available for families who cannot afford to join.
