BUFFALO, N.Y. — United States Postal Service letter carriers and supporters held a rally on Wednesday morning in front of the USPS office on Grant Street in Buffalo.
The Rally was meant to bring attention to a tentative agreement that the National Association of Letter Carriers(NALC) made with the USPS back in October.
Workers say the agreement, that provides a 1.3 percent raise in wages, does not provide enough to account for inflation. Adding that they no longer make a living wage.
David J Grosskopf Jr, President, NALC Branch # 3 BuffaloNVNY said, "I have full time letter carriers that are single mothers that qualify for daycare assistance, i have letter carriers that for example have immuno therapy conditions and they are having to choose between buying their medications and paying their rent,".
The Buffalo workers, joined members of the NALC around the country, all rallying for a better contract.
