SILVER CREEK, N.Y. — One person died after a tractor trailer crash on the 90 near Silver Creek on Wednesday night.
The crash happened around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to New York State Police, which said an eastbound tractor trailer "near mile marker 455.54 drifted from the right lane and struck a tractor trailer that was stopped on the south shoulder to switch drivers."
It then jack-knifed and overturned several times, then caught on fire along the south shoulder of the Thruway.
The driver of the overturned tractor trailer was declared dead at the scene. The two people with the stopped semi along the Thruway shoulder were not injured, state police said.
The crash is under investigation.
