NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Town of Niagara Police were called to reports of a hazmat incident at the New York Power Authority located in Lewiston on Monday morning.
The call had came in around 9:06 a.m. to Niagara County Sheriff's Dispatchers. An employee at the power authority had been reported to have opened a package that then caused them to feel nauseous.
Emergency officials responded to the scene such as the Niagara County Emergency Management team, the Niagara County Fire Coordinators Office, NYS Police, and Mercy EMCS.
The Niagara Falls Reserve Fire Hazmat team deemed the package as no threat, and no other issues were reported in the building.
