KENMORE, N.Y. - The Village of Kenmore has approved the application that will turn the former St. Paul's School building into a new multi million dollar apartment building with nearly 40 apartments.
The old school on Victoria Boulevard that closed six years ago was built nearly 100 years ago and has recently been used to house parish offices and various religious classes or community events.
The developers plan a faith built community at the site that they hope will appeal to people who want to downsize.
"We are very excited, been on it for a long time, had to go through a lot of hoops, to make sure the diocese is happy, and the parishioners, and the father, it's a unique project, first time the diocese sold an occupied building, so we had to work around them," said Larry Bicz with Double Eagle Development.
The $5.5 million project could be complete by early next year.
