BUFFALO, N.Y. — Volunteers with the Response To Love Center in Buffalo are making sure neighbors aren't forgotten this Thanksgiving.
A turkey feast was held Thursday morning, and they invited people from all over the community to join in. It was a time for many to come together and have a meal.
"It's a special day because they come to us as family," Sister Johnice said. "We have about 300 people who we work with personally, and we're going to do this again on Christmas. We want want to make their lives special, and we want it to be meaningful for them."
She added: "Many of the people have resorted back to eating a meal at the center because it brings them together, as a community and family. "
While people were eating their meals, the center also handing out baskets of fruits.
