BLASDELL, N.Y. — Ten Lives Club cat shelter is currently at capacity. They have suspended accepting any new cats until they can catch up with medical care for current cats and are able to send them to foster homes and forever homes.
Kimberly LaRussa, the Public relations manager for Ten Lives Club said that they have seen a recent jump in the amount of cats being surrendered and they are having a hard time keeping up. In order to give the cats they currently have the highest quality of care, they are not accepting any new cats until at least August 6.
She said, "Rescues across Western New York are having a difficult time right now, animals are being dumped on the streets, they've been dumped out of cars, we don't know what's going on but it is really heartbreaking to see,".
LaRussa said, "We are in need of fosters, that way we can get them out of this shelter get them into your home, and then find them a forever home. Of course, adoptions, if you wanted to adopt a cat, please do it now,".
If you are unable to have a cat in your home, she also said they will happily accept any cat food donations and are also always looking for volunteers.
