EAST AURORA, N.Y. — Main Street in East Aurora will soon be filled with the smells and tastes of the local cuisine.

The 13th annual Taste of East Aurora is back on Saturday, September 7 from 11 a.m. to 3p.m. The event will close down Main Street between Olean Road and Elm Street in the Village of East Aurora.

This year will feature a unique summertime beach flavor: coconut.

Restaurants and vendors that are participating in the 2024 Taste Test Contest will offer a special dish that highlights the flavors of coconut. At noon, five judges will hold a blind taste test to pick the best coconut dish.

Guests will also be able to vote for a favorite vendor. Awards will be presented for the Best Bite, Best Sweet Treat, Best Healthy Option, Best Vendor Booth Presentation, and People’s Choice Finest of Flavors Coconut.

There is expected to be more than 30 local restaurants from the Greater East Aurora area including the Village of East Aurora and Towns of Aurora, Colden, Elma, Holland, Marilla, and Wales all offering their best “Taste” menu items.

The event is free and open to the public, but booths will be cash only for foods and drinks. Some vendors will offer alcohol for anyone 21 and older with proof of I.D.

Registration for restaurant and food vendors is still open. Applicants must be a member of the Greater East Aurora Chamber of Commerce to participate. The registration and payment are due by Thursday, August 1.
