Stolen vehicle crashes into a dog daycare

Alford's Angels will be doing repairs after a car crashed into the building.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A local business is cleaning up a mess after a car crashed into a building housing its dog grooming business.

Alford's Angels posted pictures of the damage, including the stolen vehicle that crashed into the building on Kenmore Avenue.

"The only impact was the window. We're so grateful no one was hurt because it could have been a completely different situation," owner Amanda Alford said. "Luckily, the car didn't enter into the building and no one was on the sidewalk at that time, so you know, we're just grateful.

"We do have to close down the daycare for a bit just to get everything fixed. The dogs were scared, but we were able to calm them back down, and get them back in a good state."

Alford was in the salon grooming a dog at the time of the crash.

“Two cars crashed. Next  thing I know, a young person hops out of the car," she said. "We're thinking that they're hurt because the car is still moving. The young person hops out and begins running. At this point, there's another car that was also involved, more young people jump out the car and begin running.

"We noticed that car is still moving and headed right towards our dog grooming or our doggy daycare. There are dogs in here at daycare and the car just smashes right into our window. The person that jumped out actually ran back to the car to grab their belongings and then ran ran off.”
