BUFFALO, N.Y. —
Spot Coffee workers announced an official end to the boycott and beginning of negotiations between the coffee chain and the newly formed union.
Those two workers have returned to Spot Coffee with Full back pay as part of an agreement with the National Labor Relations Board. Spot Coffee management and the newly formed union have entered collective bargaining instructions.
Five Spot locations are involved in this current round of bargaining. Those locations are Delaware Avenue, Elmwood Avenue, Hertel Avenue, Williamsville, and Rochester.
More locations are expected to join the negotiations but no new locations have been announced at this time. Spot management has agreed to a non-interference agreement while the union tries to negotiate a contract.
No word yet on where both sides stand at this stage in the negotiation process.
Spot Coffee’s Executive Chairman John Lorenzo was scheduled to attend but was unable to do so for health reasons. A statement that was sent to Channel 2 News says:
"Principles shape our character and run deep in every aspect of our lives especially our hospitality industry where social interaction, quality service, and business meet. I have never been more proud of our company and our employees."
