Erie County SPCA rescues coyote

When the wildlife rescue team had arrived they found the coyote shivering and suffering from evident exhaustion.

ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. — The SPCA Serving Erie County made a recent hairy save near a US Coast Guard site on Fuhrmann Boulevard.

A coyote had been discovered near the site to have been stranded on a log floating in the water. The SPCA's Wildlife Department had responded to the scene immediately after receiving numerous calls about the furry creature.

When the rescue team had arrived they found that the coyote was shivering and suffering from evident exhaustion, most likely from swimming in the water before becoming stranded on the log.

The coyote was able to be pulled up to safety, and was immediately transported to the SPCA's West Seneca location for overnight care, and health exams.

Officers then were able to release the coyote after her overnight stay to a safe wooded area not too far away from where she was located on December 23.
