SNYDER, New York — A Snyder Fire Department assistant chief recently got to be reunited with a family he had helped in the spring of 2024.

In a post made to their Facebook page, the fire department shared that assistant chief Ryan O'Connor had helped deliver a baby.

The caption read "Assistant Chief O’Connor arrived on-scene quickly during an overnight call to an unexpected home birth to find the mother holding her newborn. Chief O’Connor quickly assessed the mother and child, and with assistance of Twin City Ambulance Corporation cut the umbilical cord. The mother and baby were both doing well, and then were transported to a local hospital!"
