ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. — The Erie County Sheriff's Office says the Silver Alert issued for woman who was reported missing has been canceled.
The woman has been located and she is safe.
There was some confusion about her whereabouts and whether she was actually placed on a bus.
In a release the sheriff's office said that the woman was "located in Chautauqua County earlier today (Thursday) and was sent home on a bus. Possibly to NFTA terminal in downtown Buffalo."
However, Cheektowaga Police now say that the woman was not placed on a bus. An alert was put out when she did not return to her home in Cheektowaga after being found lost earlier in the day in the Silver Creek area. She has since been located and is being reunited with her family.
2 On Your Side is not using the woman's name moving forward out of respect for her privacy.
