BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Erie County Sheriff's Office confirmed on Monday evening that seven people died from an overdose on Monday alone in Buffalo and Tonawanda.
Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz took to X Monday stating "There appears to be a VERY deadly form of fentanyl on the streets right now."
The Erie County Sheriff's Public Information Officer then posted a statement to X shortly after, confirming the deaths.
Poloncarz said that more information is expected to come from the ECDOH, following further investigation.
