NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Visitors to Niagara Falls will see a new visitor attraction in the Cataract City.

A custom 3-D sculpture has been placed at the corner of Rainbow Boulevard and Old Falls Street.

The sign has four-feet letters "NF NY" along with an eight-foot waterfall background.

This is the latest addition to the downtown district's public art scene and a great backdrop for visitor photos.

“With all the activities planned for Old Falls Street USA throughout the summer, we encourage residents and visitors to stop by and take a selfie with our new ‘NF NY’ sculpture,” said USAN President Anthony Vilardo.  “We’re confident that the sculpture will quickly become a fun and easy way to capture unforgettable memories in Niagara Falls.”

“The display of public art is a fun and attractive way to welcome visitors from around the world to Old Falls Street.  It also presents the perfect opportunity to promote our destination directly through our visitors when they post photos with the sculpture on their social media accounts. It’s a wonderful addition to the street that our team works so hard to create the best experience possible for all those who visit," said Destination Niagara USA President & CEO John Percy

City of Niagara Falls Mayor Robert Restaino added, “With the summer season upon us, I’m thrilled that there is new public art on Old Falls Street that visitors and residents alike can snap a picture of and share with friends and family.  This artistic placemaking will further activate Old Falls Street and draw people into the city.”

Olf Falls Street USA is a three-block section that connects Niagara Falls State Park with the Niagara Falls Convention Center. There will be several events held there this summer including:   Friday night concert series which will run from June 28 – August 30.  On Saturdays,  from June 29 to August 24, there will be special events, including the return of Rainbow City Pride on June 29, Christmas in July on July 20 and Poochella (Dog Day) on August 24.
