BUFFALO, N.Y. — The start of school is a little over a month away and a local organization will be handing out backpacks and school supplies.
Community Access Services is hosting their annual backpack giveaway and community fair this Friday, August 2.
The event is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. located at 3297 Bailey Ave, close to Westminster Community Charter School and Highgate Heights Elementary.
Each backpack includes school supplies such as pens, pencils, paper, crayons, markers, a ruler, and scissors.
The giveaway is apart of a community event with activities and resources for children and adults. There will also be an obstacle course, a video game truck, a DJ with music, and free food.
For adults, the event features community resources, information tables, and rapid HIV testing.
The giveaway is on a first-come, first-served basis until the supplies run out. Children must be present to receive the backpack.
