ISCHUA, N.Y. — Cattaraugus County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident involving a school bus.
The accident happened on Route 16 in the Town of Ischua just after 9am Tuesday.
Investigators say the First Student bus entered a ditch on the north side of Route 16. The driver of the bus, a 57-year-old male from Cheektowaga, was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to Olean General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A female bus monitor was taken to Olean General Hospital with minor injuries.
No students were on the bus at the time of the accident.
Police are still looking into the cause of the crash.
