NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. — A man has died following a train accident early Sunday morning.
North Tonawanda Police say officers were called to the Thompson Street railroad crossing just after 3 a.m. Officers say a man in his mid-20s was hit by the train and was pronounced dead.
The individual's name is not being released at this time.
Wheatfield Street, Robinson Street and Thompson Street were all closed for several hours Sunday. According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, the roads were reopened around 1 p.m.
