Road in Cattaraugus County reopens after shelter in place order

Residents in the area were advised to stay indoors for hours this morning and into the late afternoon.

CATTARAUGUS COUNTY, N.Y. — A man is now in custody without incident after an hours-long search in Cattaraugus County, involving multiple police agencies, shut down a portion of a residential neighborhood.

Raub Road in the town of Lyndon from Abbotts Road to Route 16/Main Street was closed, and a shelter-in-place was put into effect for residents early this morning and into the afternoon.

New York State Police say they are investigating a domestic incident in which a suspect left a residence and entered a wooded area, prompting the early morning search for the suspect.

Charges and an investigation are pending.
