BUFFALO, N.Y. — University at Buffalo Police announced Monday that a former member of their force has died from COVID-19 complications.
UB Police say Joe McKinnon, who served New York State for 28 years, passed away on February 4.
McKinnon's family was also the center of a Buffalo News story in May which discussed the difficulties families face in mourning loved ones during COVID-19. McKinnon's grandson Joseph Pitts died of COVID-19 in late April.
