Ralph C. Wilson Bridge continues travels through the Erie canal

The bridge is anticipated to arrive in Buffalo on Tuesday, where it will then be installed in Centennial Park with parts spanning over the I-190.

ALBION, N.Y. — The Ralph C. Wilson Park Bridge spent its 11th day of travel moving from Rochester to Albion.

Originally slated to arrive in Albion around 12:30, it experienced about a one-and-a-half-hour delay. The delay, however, did not keep a crowd from coming out to see the bridge.

Elaine and Mark Ross came from Batavia to see it pass through. Ross said, "it's something different".

Charlie Kreppenck came out with his neighbor and they reminisced about the barges that used to travel down the canal all the time, he said, "This is a big deal because this used to be a commercial canal and nowadays it's not so this is an event,".

Kristen Ostrander is the owner of Bloom's flower shop in Albion, she closed up her shop for a few hours to take her Niece and nephew out to see the Barge. "You have got to take any opportunity to teach them about the area," she said.

The Bridge is expected to arrive in Buffalo Tuesday as a part of the 716-day celebration.
