CLARENCE, N.Y. -- A fun and tasty tradition continued Sunday at the Great Pumpkin Farm in Clarence. Competitive eaters competed in the World Pumpkin Pie Eating Championships.
Contestants ate as much pumpkin pie as possible in 10 minutes. The rules included that they could not touch the pie with their hands, although they could touch the plates.
Molly Schuyler defended her title from last year, eating 42 slices of pie in 10 minutes. In 2015, she set a world record by eating 47 slices in 10 minutes.
Event organizers say the event is the only sanctioned pumpkin pie eating contest in the country.
