AMHERST, N.Y. — We could see some progress in a years-long debate in Amherst.
There's a public hearing so the town can get feedback on the plan to re-purpose the former Westwood Country Club.
Supervisor Brian Kulpa is pushing for a plan to build a new town park, with the majority of the Westwood property designated for development of a sports and wellness facility and indoor field house.
"People go places for destinations. There's a destination here. There's a destination there. Why can't there be a destination for Williamsville? Why can't there a place where when people leave here, they walk away and say, 'Man you gotta go there. This place is amazing'," said Nate Hartrich, Morningside Homeowner's Association.
The meeting will be held Monday night at 7pm at Amherst Town Hall.
