CUBA, N.Y. — Two people are facing charges in what's being called the largest drug bust in Allegany County history.
Cuba Police say they raided a former cookie factory on Farnsworth Road on Thursday, October 10th. Photos sent to 2 On Your Side from the Wellsville Sun show the nearly $3.5-million-dollar haul.
Among the items taken include 600 marijuana plants weighing in at 1000 pounds, 100 pounds of dried marijuana, magic mushrooms, lab equipment, and an illegal handgun.
Officers say they arrested 58-year-old Daniel Ackerman and 31-year-old Ana Maldonado-Delgado. Both are now facing a number of drug and weapon charges.
Daniel Ackerman Charges:
- 2 counts of 1st degree criminal possession of cannabis
- 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
- 4th degree criminal possession of a weapon
- 3rd degree criminal possession of a weapon
- Resisting arrest
Ana Maldonado-Delgado Charges:
- 2 counts of 1st degree criminal possession of cannabis
- 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
- 2 counts of 4th-degree criminal possession of a weapon
According to Cuba Police, the investigation started nearly a year ago, and included help from the Allegany County Sheriff's Office, Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office, Olean Police, the DEC, the DEA, and Border Patrol.
