OLCOTT, N.Y. — If the warm weather has already got you thinking about jumping in the lake, you're not alone.
Sunday brought the annual Olcott Polar Bear Swim in Lake Ontario, and dozens of people came out to participate. That includes the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, with law enforcement joining the plunge for their third year in a row.
The event began with a 10 a.m. tailgate, and the swimming portion got underway around 1 p.m. There was also a costume contest during the Parade of Heroes, with participants walking from Ye Olde Log Cabin down to Krull Park before taking a plunge into the water.
There was also a kid zone at the family friendly event.
