TONAWANDA, N.Y. — The Town of Tonawanda Department of Youth Parks & Recreation is happy to announce that the Lincoln Park Athletic Complex has officially opened their indoor pickle ball courts.
Created on top of turf, the courts were made with the idea that it would enhance the playing experience by providing a softer surface that absorbs impact, and reducing the risk of injuries.
“We expect these courts will be extremely popular with pickleball players,” said Town Councilman Carl Szarek who chairs the town’s Youth, Parks & Recreation Committee. “The town is looking to keep pickleball popularity rolling through the winter for our community to have the opportunity to play indoors.”
Those interested in playing at the court can make reservations by calling Trevor Taggart at (716)-831-1001, extension 7224, or by email: ttaggart@tonawanda.ny.us.
It costs $7 an hour to play if you are a resident, and $10 for non-residents. People must provide their own equipment.
There are also outdoor pickleball courts at the Paddock Park, Senior Center, Mang Park, and Lincoln Park. Two new outdoor courts will open in 2025 in front of the Aquatic & Fitness Center on Sheridan Drive.
