BATAVIA, N.Y. — One person is in the hospital following a crash on Route 98 near Batavia.
The Batavia Fire Department told 2 On Your Side that the car was going northbound when the driver crashed into a pole and rolled several times. The crash happened around 7:40 a.m. Friday.
The fire chief said the 39-year-old driver was wearing a seatbelt, which kept her from being ejected from the 2018 Toyota. The woman was taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital to be treated for serious injuries, according to Chris Strathearn, the Batavia Fire Department chief.
The fire chief added that the crash might have been caused by a medical emergency.
