LOCKPORT, N.Y. — The Niagara County Sheriff's Office says one person had to be hospitalized after a fire in Lockport Wednesday Night.

According to deputies, crews responded to Knotty Pine Drive just after 11:30 p.m. to a house on fire.

The people in the house and their dog had already evacuated by the time the Sheriff's Office arrived.

Three cats that were in the house are missing, and two people were treated for smoke inhalation. One of them was brought to Lockport Memorial Hospital for evaluation. In addition, two vehicles that were parked near the residence were also damaged in the fire.

The fire was extinguished by members of several local fire companies. Investigators say the cause of the fire was ruled accidental.
