Pedestrian struck crossing Walnut Avenue in Niagara Falls

The woman was taken to ECMC with non life threatening injuries and is currently in stable condition.

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — A 62-year-old woman is recovering at ECMC after she was hit by a car in Niagara Falls Saturday evening, according to the Niagara Falls Police Department.

Police say it happened at the intersection of 10th Street and Walnut Avenue, around 7:45 p.m. Saturday. They say the woman was using her wheelchair as a walker to cross the intersection when she was hit by an 81-year-old man driving a minivan. 

The woman was taken to ECMC with non life threatening injuries and is currently in stable condition. The driver and his passenger were both uninjured.

The crash is currently under investigation, and any witnesses are encouraged to call the Niagara Falls Police Department at (716) 289-4563.
