He's home, actor Patrick Gallo has a weekend one man show at Alleyway Theater

A WNY native seen in critically acclaimed movies and TV shows, is bringing his one man show back Buffalo on Friday and Saturday.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Patrick Gallo is happy to bring his one man show this Friday and Saturday to the Alleyway Theater called How to Be an Artist in 10 Super Easy Steps.

He describes it as something like an infomercial, instead he's selling the persona of an artist, showcasing the glory and insecurities.

Gallo wanted to do this performance on a stage in his hometown.  "This is where my soul was was birthed. And I don't think I would have done anything else in my career the way I had done if I didn't have this beautiful place to begin," Gallo said.  In fact, this is the second time he's performing this show.

"This show was a collection of stories that happened in my life, the first 25 years of my life," he said.

Expect to be entertained. "What occurred during the exploration of my life going back in and looking at these stories, things that are moments that were very entertaining and very funny, and also moments that were terribly tragic that caused a lot of trauma in my life."

How to Be an Artist in 10 Super Easy Steps is on stage Friday and Saturday, October 11 & 12 at 7:30 p.m.

Gallo is moved to be performing on Main Street in Buffalo. "This is a a magical theater. It's a wonderful space.  Theaters have a specific energy. As an actor, you can walk into some and you go, OK, I don't really feel it, but here it makes me want to cry right now, like here when I came in and I stood on this stage and I thought, oh, this is home.  It's just a very, very giving environment and it makes me feel free to open up my soul and give people a real, true, honest performance.

Gallo has appeared in films, TV shows with big Hollywood names like Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro and Al Pacino.
