AMHERST, NY - The Park School has launched an investigation following reports that educations employed by the Park School in the 70s and 80s may have had inappropriate relations with high school students.
The Park School Board of Trustees says they started the investigation after they received notification from two other schools and disclosures from two alumni.
A letter was sent to all alumni:
“In speaking with the alumni who shared their stories, we quickly came to understand how profoundly the violations of trust that they experienced at Park affected them,” school leaders wrote to alumni, faculty, staff and families. “As educators, trustees, and parents who understand the importance that trust plays in building authentic and appropriate relationships with students, we were incredibly sad and terribly sorry for their experiences, and wish to affirm that publicly.”
Two of the educators accused in the complaints are deceased, according to a press release. Two more accused are believe to no longer be teaching.
The Board of Trustees says the will be gathering more information.
Alumni who are concerned about possible misconduct at the school, should contact Julia Hilliker at 716-848-1547.
