State funding to help improve Orchard Park's Little League baseball complex

The town says the investment will help introduce more kids to youth sports. The improvements are expected to be complete by next spring.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — A quarter of a million dollars in state funding will help improve Orchard Park's Little League baseball complex.

The check was presented Friday morning by State Assemblyman Pat Burke to help improve fields, bleachers, and lighting. The town says the investment will help introduce more kids to youth sports.

"Being involved in sports just molds people," Eugene Majchrzak, the Orchard Park town supervisor, said. "Whether it's the guys or the girls, it molds them in their young adult life and teaches them about being competitive, and even in the working world, it's competitive, so it's nice that we can be part of their foundation."

The improvements are expected to be complete by next spring.
