ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — A local hardware store in Orchard Park shared the sad news on Monday, Nov. 4 that they will be closing their doors for good in the new year.

In a post made to W. G. Arthur Co. (Arthur's Hardware and Home furnishings) Facebook page they wrote that after 117 years in business, they will close on Feb. 1 2025.

The post's caption said the following:

"It is with the deepest regret to inform you that Arthur’s Hardware and Arthur’s Home Furnishings will be going out of business effective February 1, 2025.

W.G. Arthur Co., Inc. has been a mainstay of the Village of Orchard Park for over 117 years. When I purchased the company from Tom Morrow, William G. Arthur’s late grandson, it was our intent to continue operating the business for many more years to come.  Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we have no choice but to close down. The owners of the property where Arthur’s has operated for these many years have decided to sell the property, which will make it impossible for us to continue operating.

It has been a great pleasure serving our customers and community for all these years. We thank YOU for your loyalty and dedication to us. You can continue to follow us on our websites for more information at ArthursHardware.com and ArthursHomeFurnishings.com.

Joe Wales, President

Arthur's Hardware and Arthur's Home Furnishings."
