NYSEG customers will have lower heating bills this winter

There will be a significant decrease in gas supply costs from November through March.

NEW YORK STATE, USA — New York State Electric & Gas has made a positive change to their heating bills for residential customers this winter.

NYSEG customer service vice president, Christine Alexander, says that it is encouraging people to take the steps to ensure they're able to get financial assistance.

Residential customers can expect to pay about $120 less for their gas supply service which is a 40% in the natural gas supply from last year.

“We want our customers to know that help is always here for them when they need it,” Alexander said.

The HEAP benefits are available through March 15, 2024 or until the funds run out.

Gas prices are expected to have a lower rate due to weather changes, according to the NYSEG senior director, Pat Fox.

“If we have normal winter weather, we expect to see the cost of natural gas fall off significantly compared to last year,” Fox said.
