No injuries reported following Amherst house fire

AMHERST, N.Y. — No injuries were reported after a house fire caused $170,000 worth of damage on Thursday in the Town of Amherst.

The fire on Garland Drive, north of Route 5 and just west of Eggert Road, was reported at 4:12 p.m. and was placed under control by 4:55 p.m.

The Eggertsville Fire Department was the first on the scene, before the North Bailey, Snyder, Williamsville and Getzville fore companies assisted.

The Amherst Central Fire Alarm Office reported $100,000 worth of damage to the house and $70,000 to the contents.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Amherst Fire Inspector and the Amherst Police.
