Niagara Falls School District new initiative to connect students with business professionals

It is a collaboration between the school district and the Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Niagara Falls School District is developing business education initiatives for its students.

The school district is collaborating with the Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce to create the Niagara USA Business Education Initiative to connect knowledge learned in the classroom with practical business experience for high school students. Students can receive firsthand insights from local business professionals.

The superintendent of the Niagara Falls School District, Mark Laurrie is proud of this new initiative.

“Making private sector expertise and experience available to our students is invaluable,” he said. “This program will provide our students with practical knowledge and skills that are crucial for their success in the real world.”

The program aims to enhance existing business education with real-world perspectives. Chamber members will share their experiences and expertise in finance, entrepreneurship, marketing, networking, etc. with Niagara Falls students.

Executive Director of the Niagara USA Chamber, Kory Schuler, is excited about the new program.

“By connecting our business community with the educational system, we are not only investing in the future leaders of our community but also fostering a culture of continuous learning and development,” he said. “This program is a testament to the strong partnership between the chamber and the school district, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on the students.”

The Chamber will recruit a range of professional speakers trained to educate the Niagara Falls students. School educators will work with the Chamber to select speakers and topics that enhance the current curriculum.

The initiative also aims to build connections between students and business professionals that extend out of the classroom.
