NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — We're continuing to celebrate the holidays in Western New York with a hot meal given out to those in need on Christmas Eve.
The Niagara Falls Peacemakers hosted their second annual Chicken Dinner Giveaway at Tops Markets Tuesday afternoon. The Peacemakers, along with the Niagara Falls Housing Authority, Word of Life Ministries, Little Bakery and Terry's Ribs and Fish packed up and handed out meals to go.
"Usually sometimes, especially in areas that suffer with poverty and whatnot, a lot of people don't have families to go to their home for Christmas time and what not, and we believe if we can connect with those people and provide something... give them that type of family environment on Christmas Eve, it will help," said Donte Myles from Niagara Falls Peacemakers
The peacemakers hope to continue this event in the future and say their mission with this event, and everything they do, is to help people stay connected.
