NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — The USA Niagara Development Corporation is sharing its preliminary designs for the future of downtown Niagara Falls.
The goal of the Heritage Gateways project is to connect the downtown area with Niagara Falls State Park.
On Monday during a public meeting, a New York City design firm presented renderings for the gorge/canal gateway and the riverway tree walk.
"So each of these speaks to the unique history of Niagara Falls whether it be about indigenous peoples the history of the underground railroad power and industry the border and obviously the relationship back and forth between the state park and this heritage gateway loop that we're trying to develop," Vishaan Chakrabarti.
There will be four gateway sites along the trail.
The project is expected to break ground in 2024.
