NIAGARA FALLS, NY - The Niagara Falls ZOOM team held its kickoff event Wednesday along Pine Avenue.
"ZOOM," or "Zone Outreach Objective and Mission," helps combat blight in the cataract city.
This year, city officials say they are focusing on the Pine Avenue corridor by going after bad property owners, and billing them for any necessary improvements
Nicholas Melson, Niagara Falls City Administrator said, "We look at the one or two really bad houses on the block, and we're going to hit them hard and often. And we're writing them up for housing court. And we've worked with the courts and the prosecutor and we're writing arrest warrants for folks that don't show up for housing court."
The ZOOM team has been working to clean up Niagara Falls since 2010.
