The Niagara County district attorney says she will follow her counterpart in Erie County in handling certain SAFE Act cases.
Erie County District Attorney John Flynn announced in November 2018 that he would stop prosecuting cases involving part of the gun-control law that banned people from loading more than seven rounds into a 10 round magazine.
Two federal judges have ruled that part of the SAFE Act is unconstitutional, but New York State Police still enforce it.
On Thursday, Niagara County District Attorney Caroline Wojtaszek announced that she will do the same and anyone facing charges under that part of the law will have them dismissed.
