NEWFANE, N.Y. — A Newfane home was destroyed in a fire Friday night, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office.
Around 9:22 p.m. emergency personnel received several calls reporting a house fire. The people inside the home were safely evacuated thanks to a Niagara County HazMat Deputy Fire Coordinator, Mark Hain, who was driving past the home at the time.
Several fire companies reported to the Newfane home and put out the fire. The structure is believed to be a total loss.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
