HARTLAND, N.Y. — Around 10:33 a.m. this morning, fire officials responded to a call of a fire on a porch of a home on Stone Road in the town of Hartland.
When the Middleport Volunteer Fire company arrived, the people inside the home had already safely escaped, but more fire companies were called to help extinguish the fire.
The home is a total loss, according to authorities.
The American Red Cross will be assisting the family, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
