NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. — The Niagara County Sheriff's Department has announced that the registration period for those interested in taking the corrections officer exam is now open.
Sheriff Michael J. Filicetti said, "We are looking for motivated individuals that have a desire to serve their community and make a difference. If this describes you, apply to begin your law enforcement career with the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office."
Those who are interested in applying have from now until January 10, 2025 to submit an application.
An online questionnaire which is the examination, will be available from February 1 to February 28, 2025 for those who apply. The online questionnaire covers applicants training, experience, and any special skills.
Those who pass the questionnaire will then have to pass a physical agility test. Only two attempts will be given for the physical agility portion to pass. To learn more about the physical agility portion click here.
According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Department "The starting salary range for this position is $26.02 per hour. Note that the list established from this exam will not be used until there are fewer than three (3) active candidates on the current Correction Officer #202469 & #202476 eligible lists, or until the lists are one (1) year old in 2025."
