NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Law enforcement agencies once again are searching for a person who they say intentionally entered the Niagara River.
New York State Park Police said they received a call at 2:01 p.m. Wednesday, in the area of Horseshoe Falls at Niagara Falls State Park, about a woman in the water. State Park Police talked with multiple witnesses at the scene.
"An immediate search of the area commenced using Park Police drone, foot searches of the gorge, and visual searches from overlooks," New York State Park Police said in a statement Wednesday. "Park Police contacted New York State Police Aviation for assistance in searching the lower Niagara River."
Police said they have yet to find the person. The search is ongoing.

Just last Friday, the Niagara Falls community gathered for a candlelight vigil for a local woman and her two children, who are presumed dead after going over The Falls.
New York State Police said officers were called to Luna Island around 9 p.m. Monday, near the Cave of the Winds.
Chaianti Means, 33, and her two children — 9-year-old Roman Rossman and 5-month-old Mecca Means — crossed over the safety railing and went over the falls, police said. Police said the family did not just "stumble in."
