BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Children’s Museum is buzzing with excitement as their brand-new beehive exhibit is set to open. Explore & More will unveil the new interactive spot on Saturday at 10 am.
The new exhibit within the museum will teach children about beekeeping and honey production. It's in partnership with Fairytale Farms and The Mosey Family Foundation.
And it's no coincidence that opening day, August 17, is also World Honey Bee Day. There will be a number of bee-themed activities taking place at the museum like flower crafts and honey tastings.
The new exhibit is an interactive model of a beehive that will teach children the basics of beekeeping, facts about bees and how honey is brought from farm to market.
Museum goers can dress like a beekeeper, collect resources like a bee and bring honey to market like a farmer. There also will be opportunities to learn "hard-hitting science" in the hive with educational videos.
This summer, Explore & More is open every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
