NBC Sports brings "Scary Good" watch party to downtown Buffalo

Rec Room was the site of a watch party hosted by NBC Sports for Sunday Nights Bills vs. Giants game.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Hundreds of Bills fans, along with at least one fan wearing a Giants jersey, turned out to the Rec Room on Chippewa St Sunday night for the big Bills vs. Giants game.

The action for the Sunday Night Football game on NBC was slow out of the gate, but picked up in the fourth quarter.

That slow action didn't stop fans from having a little food and drink on the dime of NBC Sports.

NBC Sports brought their "Scary Good Sunday Night Football" watch party series to Buffalo and hosted the party at the Rec Room.

Rec Room is known for going a little above and beyond to present a stadium-like experience for fans watching Bills games at the venue.

"We get a pretty regular crowd here," Dan Melcher, general manager of Rec Room said. "We're always bringing that next level experience with a bunch of special effects like a DJ during the halftime and commercial breaks, and we had a full food menu ready for all our customers,"

Rec Room also fires off a C02 whenever the Bills score and release confetti whenever the Bills win. Melcher says their flair for presentation and experience at Rec Room is why NBC Sports selected the venue to host the watch party.

"I believe that's 100%. Part of the reason that they chose us to be a part of the Sunday Night Football feature," Melcher said.

The hundreds in attendance were offered food and drink samples, courtesy of NBC Sports, as well as opportunities for autographs and photos with Bills legend and Hall of Famer Thurman Thomas.

This was the last of the "Scary Good" events for the 2023-2024 season. NBC offered guests a chance to enter a contest for tickets to a SNF game during the 2024-2025 season. Previously this season, NBC brought their watch party series to Miami, Boston, Pittsburgh, Las Vegas, Kansas City, New York City, Dallas, and San Francisco.
