'National Night Out' to celebrate 41st anniversary, kick off in Niagara Square

The event is presented in partnership with Mayor Byron Brown and the Buffalo Board of Block Clubs

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Board of Block Clubs and Mayor Byron Brown will host a pre-rally Thursday to encourage block clubs and community members to register for the National Night Out taking place Tuesday, August 6. 

The kickoff event will be on Thursday, August 1 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Niagara Square. 

Organizations and community agencies will attend the pre-rally to hand out information for block club leaders. 

National Night Out is always held the first Tuesday in August. It's an annual community-building event that promotes positive police-community relationships within Buffalo neighborhoods. This year NNO celebrates its 41st anniversary. 

Registration for NNO 2024 is now open.

Currently there are over 40 City of Buffalo Block Clubs registered. Anyone interested in registering can still call 716.851.6500, click on the Facebook link above or stop by the rally on Thursday to register in person.
